Lithuania-based second-hand fashion marketplace Vinted is entering the Australian market from 1 July 2026, with Australia Post confirmed as its exclusive delivery partner under a three-year agreement combining Vinted's marketplace scale with Australia Post's national postal and parcel infrastructure.
According to Parcel and Postal Technology International, the partnership will give Australian consumers the ability to buy and sell second-hand fashion through Vinted, with parcels delivered exclusively through Australia Post's network of post offices, parcel lockers and home delivery services, making it straightforward for sellers to drop off items and for buyers to receive purchases securely.
Gary Starr, executive general manager of parcel, post and e-commerce services at Australia Post, said: "Vinted's launch in Australia is a major moment for recommerce, and we're proud to be the exclusive delivery partner helping bring the platform to Australian consumers. As more Australians embrace second-hand shopping, the delivery experience becomes even more important. Peer-to-peer selling depends on a process that is simple, reliable and easy to access."
Starr added that Australia Post's national footprint positions it well to support the platform at scale. "With our national network, parcel lockers and post offices, Australia Post is well placed to support Australians as they buy and sell on Vinted, while helping make resale more convenient at scale," he said.
The three-year agreement will be supported by a joint marketing campaign across Australia Post and Vinted channels, encouraging Australians to sell unwanted clothing and use Australia Post for end-to-end shipping from drop-off to delivery. The campaign is designed to drive awareness of both the platform and the delivery infrastructure underpinning it at launch.
The partnership reflects broader growth in recommerce and peer-to-peer resale across global e-commerce markets, with delivery reliability and access points identified as critical factors in consumer adoption of second-hand fashion platforms. For Australia Post, the exclusive arrangement with one of Europe's largest recommerce marketplaces represents a significant addition to its e-commerce partnerships portfolio at a time of sustained parcel volume growth.
