Lisburn-based chilled and frozen food distributor PRM Group has commenced construction on a £15m expansion at its Moira Road headquarters, adding more than 120,000 square feet of warehousing space, tripling loading bay capacity and creating 40 jobs in the initial phase of operation, with additional roles expected to follow as the site reaches full capacity.
According to Irish News, the purpose-built facility is due to complete by the end of next year and will sit alongside PRM's existing headquarters, forming part of the family-owned company's long-term strategy to expand operations and meet increasing demand from customers and supplier partners across Europe. The project was first mooted in 2021 and represents the most significant capital investment in PRM's history.
The new development will significantly increase pallet capacity and include modern office accommodation, dedicated areas for innovation and product development, and sustainability-focused infrastructure incorporating energy-efficient systems and environmentally responsible design principles throughout the site.
PRM Group distributes household brands including Muller, Ferrero, Fage, Nomadic, Biotiful and GU to retailers across Britain and Ireland, delivering more than 300,000 cases of product each week. Its retail partners include Tesco, Dunnes Stores, Musgrave and Marks & Spencer, reflecting the breadth and commercial scale of its distribution network across both islands.
Founded by Philip and Lynne Morrow in 1988, PRM has grown into one of Ireland's most significant operators in the chilled and frozen food sector over nearly four decades. In 2025, PRM Group, the holding company for PRM Distribution, PRM Enterprises and PRM Ireland, posted a pre-tax profit of £803,656 as turnover rose from £59.5m to £68.5m over the year, underscoring the financial momentum underpinning the current expansion.
The Moira Road investment positions PRM to scale its logistics and distribution capability in response to sustained demand growth across the chilled and frozen food sector in Britain and Ireland, consolidating its standing as a leading cold-chain operator on both sides of the Irish Sea.
