Our judging panel is drawn from across the public, academic, and private sectors. Judges are selected for their industry knowledge, expertise, and integrity. This award recognises organisations that have made a significant and lasting impact on workplace safety through a comprehensive, sustained culture shift. It celebrates initiatives that have changed attitudes, behaviours, and practices related to safety, leading to measurable improvements in safety performance, risk management, and employee engagement. The winning organisation will demonstrate leadership, innovation, and commitment to fostering a proactive, resilient safety culture that prioritises employee wellbeing and actively reduces workplace hazards. Entry is by a 5 A4 page submission (11pt font size minimum); the judges will be looking for clear information backed up by facts, supporting materials and statistics, that pays particular attention to the criteria listed below.
- Background & Rationale: Please outline the starting point of your safety culture, the case for change, and the objectives of your transformation programme.
- Leadership & Strategy: Describe the leadership commitment and strategy behind the culture shift, including senior management buy-in and how it was rolled out across the organisation.
- Implementation & Employee Engagement: Outline how the programme was implemented, including training, communication, and how employees at all levels were engaged in changing attitudes and behaviours.
- Innovation: Please include details of any unique or innovative approaches employed to embed a proactive safety culture.
- Measurable Outcomes: Provide evidence of measurable improvements in safety performance, incident rates, risk management, and employee engagement, including year-on-year comparisons where possible.
- Supporting Facts & Testimonials: Include any other facts or statements that you feel are relevant to support the entry, including employee testimonials where possible.
