This award focuses on organisations in Ireland’s logistics and transport sector who have taken on a green transformation project that has had significant impact on sustainability activities, which can include (but not limited to): alternative fuels, decarbonisation, procurement of sustainable services, technology, operations, waste, energy, training and education. Entrants are expected to have carried out concrete actions and can document that their efforts are moving the organisation in a markedly more climate and environmentally friendly direction, with measurable outcomes and comparisons to previous years. Entry is by a 5-page A4 PDF submission; the judges will be looking for a clear plan and evidence that it is delivering on core objectives, paying particular attention to the criteria listed below.

  • Project Overview: Briefly describe the green transformation project, including its objectives, timeline, scope, and targeted sustainability areas relevant to logistics and transport.
  • Project Impact: Evaluate and quantify the project's sustainability impact with measurable outcomes and comparisons to previous years, focusing on emissions, waste, and energy savings.
  • Innovation and Best Practices: Highlight innovative approaches or technologies used in the project and their contributions to sustainability.
  • Collaboration and Engagement: Describe how your organisation engaged employees, stakeholders, and the community during the project. Include specific activities, such as training programs or outreach initiatives.
  • Sustainable Resource Management: Detail strategies implemented for sustainable resource management, such as optimising fuel use, enhancing supply chain efficiency, and minimising environmental impact.
  • Long-Term Sustainability Goals: Explain how the project influences your organisation's long-term sustainability practices and future targets for progress measurement.
