Our judging panel is drawn from across the public, academic, and private sectors. Judges are selected for their industry knowledge, expertise, and integrity. This award recognises the logistics or transport organisation that has made the most effective use of digital technology to transform its fleet operations over the past 12 months. This may include telematics, driver apps, route and load optimisation software, predictive maintenance, electric vehicle management systems, or other digital fleet solutions. The judges will be looking across three core dimensions — Innovation, Implementation, and Management — and will want evidence of the positive impact digitisation has had on fleet performance, safety, and efficiency. Entry is by a 5 A4 page submission (11pt font size minimum); the judges will be looking for clear information backed up by facts, supporting materials and statistics, that pays particular attention to the criteria listed below.

  • Background: Please outline the digital technology or system(s) adopted, including a summary of their uses and application to your fleet operations.
  • Innovation: Please include details of what makes your approach distinctive, such as novel applications of the technology, custom development, integration of multiple systems, or being first in your sector to adopt it. Demonstrate the degree of innovation and the benefit delivered to the organisation.
  • Implementation: Describe how the technology was rolled out across your fleet and organisation, including project planning, integration with existing systems, driver and staff training, and any challenges faced during implementation and how they were overcome.
  • Management: Outline how the digital solution is managed and embedded into day-to-day fleet operations on an ongoing basis, including governance, data use and monitoring, continuous improvement, and how performance is tracked over time.
  • Outcomes & Results: Summarise the outcomes of these efforts, including improvements in efficiency, safety, cost, or emissions, and provide evidence that the technology has delivered a return on investment. Include measurable results and year-on-year statistics, where possible.
  • Supporting Facts & Statement: Include any other facts or statements that you feel are relevant to support the entry.
