Kent-based customs and freight forwarding specialist Zelir Logistics has opened a Dublin office, expanding its in-house capability across the UK-Ireland trade route and removing its reliance on third-party partners for import and export declarations.

According to MultiModal, the move brings greater continuity to cross-border shipments at a time when regulatory complexity on the UK-EU corridor continues to intensify. ICS2, the EU's enhanced pre-arrival safety and security programme, became mandatory across all transport modes from 1 September 2025, while the EU's Entry/Exit System became fully operational on 10 April 2026, compounding compliance obligations for freight businesses on the Britain-Ireland route.

Joe Jeffery, Director of Zelir Logistics, said: "Opening in Dublin is a really important step for us because it gives us greater control over the service we provide on Irish movements. Our reputation has been built on speed and responsiveness, and this enables us to keep control of efficiency levels at all stages of the process."

Jeffery cited both ICS2 and EES as key drivers of demand for fast, expert-backed customs support. "These changes are increasing demand for practical, up-to-date support from businesses that need fast answers and dependable handling," he added.

The Dublin office is also the opening move in a longer-term European expansion plan. Founded in Ashford in 2023 by Jeffery and Matt Dawson, Zelir has grown through recommendation and repeat business, with development of ZClear, a self-service customs document platform continuing in parallel.

"Freight doesn't only move Monday to Friday, nine to five, so that peace of mind really matters," Jeffery said.
