Seamus Kavanagh, Executive Officer at the Irish International Freight Association, has been confirmed as a member of the judging panel for the Irish Logistics & Transport Awards 2027, bringing over 15 years of experience representing Ireland's freight forwarding and customs brokerage community at national and international level to one of the sector's most established recognition programmes.

Kavanagh has been with the IIFA since 2008, building a career defined by sustained engagement with the policy, regulatory, and training frameworks that shape freight companies in Ireland and their place within the global logistics ecosystem.

At national level, he represents the Association through participation in bodies including the Revenue Customs Consultative Committee and the DTTAS Logistics and Supply Chain Skills Group.

Internationally, he represents the Irish freight industry through FIATA, the International Federation of Freight Forwarders Associations, and CLECAT, the European Association for Freight Forwarders and Customs Clearance Brokers.

That dual engagement, at both domestic regulatory and international policy level, gives him a command of the supply chain management and trade compliance landscape that few Irish logistics professionals can match.

His contribution to the development of industry training adds a further dimension to his profile. Kavanagh developed the online delivery capabilities for the IIFA's FIATA Diploma course, including its video production, and serves as course lecturer on the Association's Customs Clearance and Practical Customs Declaration programme, maintaining course content in line with the continuous regulatory changes that define customs and freight management practice.

That investment in workforce development and education reflects an understanding of the logistics industry that goes beyond operational delivery into the skills and knowledge infrastructure that sustains it.

The Irish Logistics and Transport Awards 2027 spans 33 categories recognising excellence across the full breadth of Ireland's logistics and transport sector, from Overall Logistics and Transport Excellence and End-to-End Logistics Provider of the Year to Green Supply Chain Excellence, Technology Provider of the Year, Safety Culture Transformation, and Women in Logistics and Transport.

Kavanagh joins fellow panellists Maurice Brady of TU Dublin, Michael O'Callaghan of IPICS, and Philip Tracey of Ace Express Freight.

The awards gala will take place on 4 March 2027 at the Crowne Plaza Hotel, Santry. Entries close on 16 October 2026.
