Germany-based appliance manufacturer Miele has partnered with logistics technology provider FarEye to enhance last-mile delivery and installation services for its appliances across Europe and Australia, according to a report in Logistics Manager.
With last mile accounting for more than half of total logistics costs globally, and big-and-bulky deliveries among the most complex segments, the partnership focuses on bringing intelligent orchestration to appliance delivery operations.
Miele will deploy FarEye's platform to unify scheduling, routing and execution, introducing real-time visibility and automated decision-making across the delivery journey. The collaboration aims to reduce failed delivery attempts, improve on-time performance and enhance productivity for two-person installation crews.
Delivery teams will use FarEye's mobile application to digitise proof-of-delivery and installation workflows, whilst automated pre-delivery checks will identify access constraints before dispatch. The system is designed to address challenges specific to large appliance installations, including property access requirements and specialist handling procedures.
Leader of Logistics Processes and External Services Fernando Monge stated: "That expectation extends beyond the point of sale to delivery, installation and ongoing care. Partnering with FarEye supports our ability to deliver this experience with the same precision, reliability and attention to detail that defines Miele."
The rollout covers all orders generated in Europe and Australia, with both companies exploring further global deployment as part of a broader last-mile transformation strategy. Miele manufactures premium domestic appliances including washing machines, dishwashers, ovens and refrigeration equipment requiring specialist delivery and installation services.
FarEye provides cloud-based logistics software for delivery management, route optimisation and customer communication across retail, e-commerce and manufacturing sectors. The platform integrates with existing warehouse management and enterprise resource planning systems to coordinate last-mile operations.
