Indra Group, a Spain-based technology and transport solutions company, has inaugurated a new office in Dublin to consolidate its leadership in Irish public transport projects.
The office will drive the implementation of a national ticketing system for trams, buses, the national rail network, and the future Dublin Metro.
The project uses an advanced multimodal backend system that integrates multiple operators while enabling physical and digital sales channels. It incorporates EMV technology, allowing bank cards, mobile phones, and smartwatches to act as access points for travellers, improving efficiency and convenience.
Irish Transport Minister Darragh O’Brien said the Dublin office signals Ireland’s ambition in transport innovation, will centralise the national contactless ticketing system, boost the economy, create high-skilled jobs, and enhance public transport convenience.
“The opening of Indra's new headquarters in Dublin is a clear sign of Ireland's ambition to lead innovation in transport,” he said.
Anne Shaw, CEO of the National Transport Authority, added the office is a milestone in collaboration with Indra, combining local knowledge and global expertise to develop a modern, integrated payment system for users nationwide.
Indra’s Director of Mobility & Technology Raúl Ripio said the new headquarters marks a key milestone, reinforces long-term growth in Ireland, and strengthens strategic partnerships with transport authorities.
Indra has over 20 years of experience in Ireland, modernising toll systems, railway management, and integrating cloud-based transport solutions.
The Dublin office will enable the company to expand its technological capabilities while creating high-skilled jobs and supporting complex national mobility projects.
