Irish logistics and transport customs specialist Derry Bros recorded strong growth in 2025 as freight operators increased their focus on compliant, efficient cross-border movements between Ireland, the UK and mainland Europe.

According to a HGV Ireland report, the company secured 300 new customers over the year and processed more than 110,000 customs declarations, according to reporting by John Loughran.

Demand was particularly strong on Irish Sea routes, where GB–NI declaration volumes rose by 47 per cent as hauliers and freight forwarders sought greater certainty across increasingly complex trade lanes.

“We are using our longstanding expertise to provide guidance and support, so our expanding customer base can navigate a constantly evolving customs landscape,” explains Sarah-Louise Murray, Customs Manager at Derry Bros. “In the past year, we have increased our headcount by 25% and invested heavily in the digitisation of our processes to ensure we are best placed to handle any new requirements quickly, efficiently and safely.”

To support scale, the company launched SelfClear, a self-service platform enabling logistics operators to generate Goods Movement References and GB Safety and Security Declarations on demand. A separate automated solution, FulfilClear, now supports end-to-end customs processing for fulfilment and refrigerated groupage traffic moving between the UK and Ireland.

“Customs regulations will continue to develop in the UK and EU during 2026, so we see further growth opportunities for the business moving forward,” Murray adds, referencing recent support for ICS2 and CBAM compliance.

With more than 60 years’ experience in freight and logistics, Derry Bros continues to position digital customs capability as central to resilient cross-border transport operations.
