Declan Allen, Head of Logistics, Supply Chain and Project Management at Technological University Dublin, joins the judging panel as the Judge Coordinator of the Irish Logistics & Transport Awards 2026, bringing more than three decades of academic and industry experience across logistics, supply chain, and transport management.

A seasoned educator and leader, Declan has held senior roles including Head of Department of Transport Engineering at Dublin Institute of Technology and currently leads undergraduate and postgraduate programmes at TU Dublin. He has forged strong connections with industry, spearheading strategic initiatives to advance operational excellence across logistics and supply chain management.

Internationally recognised, Declan has served as WorldSkills Ireland’s Chief Examiner for Logistics, represented Ireland at WorldSkills Kazan 2019, acted as Chief Expert at WorldSkills Salzburg 2022, and is appointed Skills Competition Manager for Logistics and Freight Forwarding at WorldSkills Lyon 2024. A Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (UK), he has contributed extensively to research, publications, and sector development.

As Judging Coordinator, Declan will oversee assessment across key categories, including Independent Transport Operator of the Year and Logistics & Transport Team of the Year. 

Finalists were announced last 4 December 2025, with the gala set for 26 February 2026, where Ireland’s logistics and transport leaders will gather to celebrate innovation, leadership, and operational excellence.

The Irish Logistics & Transport Awards have become a defining moment in the sector’s calendar, highlighting organisations that push boundaries, optimise operations, and deliver measurable impact.
