Ireland’s largest multi-modal infrastructure project is advancing, with the Cork to Limerick motorway poised to transform regional connectivity and logistics.

The €1bn–€3bn scheme will prioritise bypassing congested towns and deliver 100km of active travel infrastructure alongside seven strategically located transport hubs.

With EV charging, freight facilities, car sharing, and distance-based tolling built in, this isn’t just a road upgrade — it’s a nationwide shift towards safer, smarter, and more sustainable mobility. Planning is expected by 2026, with construction potentially kicking off by 2028.
