UK-based supply chain risk management company Achilles has opened a sales and technology hub in Belfast, creating 26 positions as part of its expansion strategy, according to a report in Insider Media.

Founded in 1992, Achilles helps major financial, industrial, commercial and governmental organisations manage supply chain risk, comply with environmental, social and governance regulations and meet sustainability goals. The company operates across 22 global locations with clients including CBRE, Orsted and Ineos.

Regional Director for UK, Ireland and Middle East Katie Ferrier stated: "We are investing in Belfast as an important part of strengthening our capability in technology, data and client delivery. The new team will bring together expertise across sales, marketing, audit and AI technology, supporting the continued development of our products and services for customers around the world."

Based at Glandore Business Centre, Arthur House, the facility will house personnel responsible for developing products and services supporting international clients. Ferrier noted that Northern Ireland offers an exceptional environment for technology-led businesses, with the company able to see first-hand the strength of the local talent pool, collaborative technology community and supportive business ecosystem through engagement with Invest NI.

Interim Director of International Business at Invest NI George McKinney stated that the creation of 26 positions by Achilles will serve as another example to help attract future foreign direct investment by demonstrating the region's suitability for internationally focused investment.

McKinney noted that Invest NI worked closely with the company to secure the project for Northern Ireland, offering a strong investment proposal including financial assistance and access to a highly skilled talent pipeline from leading universities and further education colleges.

The Belfast operation marks Achilles' first dedicated facility in Northern Ireland and supports the company's growth in providing supply chain risk assessment, compliance verification and sustainability reporting services to global corporate and public sector clients.
